Since I haven’t been writing anything on my blog on here, I figured I’d better say something to update it. I am slowly working my way through the last of the cashmere sent to the mill a couple of years ago to be dehaired. I go through it again with tweezers to get the last of the guard hairs out, then spin it into yarn. I will be having a big (for me) upload to my Etsy shop in December right after Christmas. So, save your Christmas gift money that you get so you can check out my shop and maybe buy something on there. I will have some handspun Cashmere yarn finally, some woven cotton kitchen towels, and whatever else I get made between now and then!
This year has gone by fast! Between keeping up with the gardens, the goats, and everything else, I haven’t had much time to do the fibery things I love to do. Now that winter seems to be here, I can get back to spinning and weaving all the things. I decided to take a break from kids next spring, so no breeding of the cashmere goats will be happening this fall. The only kids that will be born in the spring will be whatever the two dairy girls pop out. They are the only two goats that were bred this fall. They are due in the beginning of April.
I did change the name of my Etsy shop back to PNF Cashmeres instead of Wild Mountain Handmade. I want to get back to mostly cashmere things again and quit doing the “Squirrel!” thing. Cashmere is what I really love, from the goats themselves to their wonderful fleeces, so I am back to focusing on that. I do like to weave cotton and/or cottolin Kitchen towels, so I will do that also, but those are the only two directions I will be taking from here on out. At least that’s the plan anyway. Hopefully I won’t get distracted by anything else. Those dang squirrels. 🙂
