After much consideration, I decided to close my Etsy shop and move everything over to Goimagine instead. Etsy has become way too big; profit driven for the shareholders and they don’t really care that much about the handmade sellers on there anymore. Everything has to be inexpensive and on sale, which I can’t do. I’ve priced my items so I just get a few dollars profit as it is, so running sales all the time doesn’t work for me. I watched quite a few YouTube and other videos and articles on the current state of Etsy and decided it was time to change. I haven’t sold anything on there this year, usually I have a few sales by now. So, I decided now was a good time to move over to the other site. Goimagine is not profit driven, all of their profits go to charities helping needy children in this country. Since without children, the world would pretty much go away, I figure helping them is a good thing. Much better than my money going to line someone else’s pockets. The shop name is PNFCashmeres, and so far, all I have is one item in it. I will be moving all the items from my Etsy shop over there. That will take some time. The items will also be a little bit less expensive since the fees aren’t very much. I think it’s a good move all the way around. I’ll put the actual link to the shop on the home page here once I get it all moved and set up properly.
On other farm news, I’m making good progress on combing the cashmere off the goats. I’ve spun some of the cashmere from previous harvests into yarn. Some of that will be in the new shop, too.
Spring is slowly coming. Still have quite a bit of snow, the ground is mostly frozen, so I still have some “fibery” time before all things outside start happening. I hope you are having a great day today!
